From time to time working for www.theguidetospain.com you come across a fantastic restaurant or bar that from the moment you walk in you feel at home. Well today driving from Competa to Torrox at KM, 9 I pulled into Pavo Real Restaurante at about 3.30pm in Competa and enjoyed a fantastic lunch.
Having left our offices in Torre del Mar at 10am I finally pulled up for a bite to eat at Pavo Real, I almost overshot the turning and having seen several UK plated vehicles thought I better check this place out. To my delight Liver & Onions was on the menu and having given a few restauarant's a try with liver the results have always been a little disapointing, Not today though
I specifically asked for my liver to be cooked very well done and when it arrived it was slightly charred and cooked to perfection with a really tasty gravy and fantastic big chips and a salad for only 8.50 euro you cannot go wrong.
Everything was fresh and the service was both cheerfull and friendly, I had a chat with some of the staff and one of the entertainers (Apparantly there are party nights once a month, watch this space for further info).
There is FREE wifi connection for your laptop or SKYPE phone and the restaurant area is very clean and spacious, there is also a very large terrace.
I can guarantee you that you will not be disapointed, I was lucky enough to meet the Chef and told her how happy I was with my meal and took her photo, big thanks to Terri - Ann Weston who cooks a mean bit of Liver & Onions.
I will definately be returning to Pavo Real and will probably try the home made curry next time.
The Liver & Onions was also an option on "The Menu del Dia" for 8.80 euro incl a drink, starter and desert.
